Hattie Ritsma is visual artist exploring themes of myth, feminism, horror and ceremony.
She imbues her work with the human figure, a subject of which she is both fascinated and challenged by. Taking inspiration from Catholica iconography, the old masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods and the quiet haunting of legendary monsters and folk tales, she gives voice to those who are not seen in these historic monuments.
Their aim is to use these inspirations to record the world as it turns through various historic moments, particularly those of which affect them.
Hattie Ritsma lives in the UK.
